Commercial Real Estate Lawyer

A well-regarded full-service law firm, that's been around for decades, has noticed an imbalance in its skillset. Files worth hundreds of millions of dollars are too complex to be handled their ambitious Junior Solicitors, yet too time-consuming to be managed entirely by partners. We need a middle ground. Someone to assist partners in these matters and/or guide juniors. This is where you come in.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

You are an experienced commercial real estate associate, with an interest in other areas of business law.  You are acting as both mentor and mentee.  

You will be working with some of the most highly regarded corporate solicitors in BC. You will have leadership responsibilities in terms of delegating workload and assisting in the growth of newer called associates.

THE POSITION

The work would encompass the main areas of commercial real estate including acquisitions, financing and leasing, development, and purchases & sales of properties. In addition to joining an extensive network of lawyers you would be working closely with a highly developed team of partners and other associates in a collegial and team-oriented environment.

THE REQUIREMENTS

• Called to the BC Bar and member in good standing of the Law Society of BC
• Comfortable with a billing target of 1600
• Ideally 4+ years of experience practicing in commercial real estate law. The more experienced the better
• Have excellent verbal and written communicative ability and have a team player attitude
