We are seeking a corporate & commercial partner for a national law firm that has recently expanded into Toronto by opening a Bay Street office. They are a leading Western Canadian law firm with the goal of becoming the same in Ontario.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a unique opportunity to join the equity partnership of a firm new to Toronto but with resources of an established brand. The firm offers market leading partner compensation and national firm resources capable of supporting a busy practice. This hire will be the 2nd partner in the Toronto office and will play an important role in shaping the culture at the firm.
ABOUT THE POSITION
The role is suitable for a partner-level candidate with a strong corporate/commercial practice and expertise in areas of law such as M&A, corporate reorganisations, and financings. They have the resources to support a lawyer joining independently or the ability to accommodate a team.
THE REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to independently handle complex corporate & commercial matters
- Experience working with a top-tier legal platform
- Member of the Law Society of Ontario, or eligible to be called to the Ontario Bar
COMPENSATION
- Market leading partner compensation
