ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
This is an excellent opportunity for a legal assistant who has a strong interest in family law and is looking to deepen their knowledge. You will have the chance to work with a collaborative team where you can learn and grow.
ABOUT THE POSITION
The duties include but are not limited to:
- Opening and closing files.
- Document preparation and drafting of correspondence.
- Conducting BC Online searches.
- Setting appointments, discoveries and trial dates.
- Maintaining the bring forward system.
- Correspondence with opposing counsel and clients.
- Preparing trial books, books of documents and court binders.
THE REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of experience in family law.
- Legal Administrative Certificate.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Understanding of the Supreme and Provincial Court Family Rules.
- MS Word and Outlook.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
COMPENSATION
- $45,000 – $60,000 DOE
