From the holiday baking to the Christmas lights, it’s hard not to love this time of year. It doesn’t take much to get us excited for the holiday season, but this December was a little extra special for us. Impact Recruitment had the absolute pleasure of partnering with the Canucks Family Education Centre (CFEC) to provide Holiday Hampers for ten families in our community, something we were all so excited about. Armed with a Christmas Wish List from each family and a goal to check off each and every item, we spent the month working together to find all kinds of gifts and treats. The week before Christmas, a group of us packed our two little Yaris hatchbacks to the brim with the (now very full) hampers and set off to deliver the gifts and meet the families. When we arrived, there was coffee and cake waiting for us, plus a whole bunch of smiling faces – talk about a warm welcome! Over the next couple of hours each of the families told us their story, the challenges they’ve overcome, and the incredible support they’ve been given through the programs at CFEC. We’re so grateful to have had the opportunity to be a part of something so special, the evening was a reminder of what this time of year is all about – kindness, compassion and love.
