Another summer of parties, gatherings + community collabs – and you best believe we enjoyed every minute of it. From boat cruises to golf tournaments, from patio parties to scavenger hunts and everything in between, our only complaint about Q3 would be that it went by way, way too fast!
Here’s a snapshot of what we’ve been up to lately:
Hitting the high seas with BOMA BC
All aboard, we’re cruisin’ back to the 90s – and if anybody knows how to throw a theme party, it’s the team at BOMA BC! ⚓️ It was fantastic to see everyone, to get a little nostalgic, to reconnect with old friends and to make some new connections while enjoying a beautiful afternoon on the water.
And hitting the links with VRCA
We had a great time both sponsoring and attending this year’s VRCA YCL (Young Construction Leaders, formerly the U40 Network) Golf Tournament at Northview Golf + Country Club. A big thank you to the VRCA team for hosting another fantastic event, and congratulations to the winner of our prize draw, Brad Janzen, whose won himself a brand new, shiny $100 Visa gift card!
Our (much anticipated!) annual summer patio party
Vancouver gets a lot of flack for its often less-than-dry climate, earning nicknames like ‘Raincouver’ and “the country’s wettest city”, but holy heck, when that sun comes out, there’s nowhere else we’d rather be! Our annual summer barbecue was a huge success: we lucked out with the perfect combo of great weather, great people and great food (alongside your standard BBQ fare, burgers and beers, we also served up oysters and mojitos)! ☀️🍔
Another successful BOMA Golf Classic
It still counts as remote work when you spend the day soaking up the sun at a golf course, right? We vote yes. The team at BOMA BC organized a brilliant afternoon of golf and networking at Newlands Golf & Country Club. This is always one of our favourite events of the summer – the perfect weather was just an added bonus!
Community connections @ CityReach Care Society
Our team (ft. our pals at AmbiMi!) had the pleasure of volunteering with CityReach Care Society to help out with their Food for Families program. 🍋🥬️🍎 Through a variety of food security initiatives, CityReach Care Society provides food support (including fresh groceries and warm meals) to thousands of individuals and families in the Greater Vancouver area.
We can’t say enough good things about this organization, their incredible, hardworking team and the work they’re doing in our community to help make lasting change.
Happy birthday to us!
Watch out, world – we’re officially in our teens! 🎉🍾 This September marked 13 years of Impact Recruitment and, naturally, we celebrated in style – on both coasts. In Toronto, we confirmed that nothing pairs quite as nicely as karaoke + sushi. In Vancouver, we realized that a scavenger hunt is at least 50% more challenging after you’ve had a couple pints from the office keg. A huge thank you to our wonderful clients, amazing candidates and incredible team for making the past 13 years such a beautiful journey – and there’s many more to come!
IMPACT x AmbiMi team up for a city-wide scavenger hunt
We brought Impact and AmbiMi’s marketing teams together for a scavenger hunt that took them all over downtown Vancouver – chatting with tourists, showing off their musical talent (or lack thereof), giving amateur “weather reports” and posing with some of the city’s most colourful murals and sculptures. After the allotted time elapsed, we met up at Chewie’s in Coal Harbour for happy hour bevies and, of course, a couple dozen oysters! 🦪🍻
Ushering in autumn with our friends at VBA
It was our pleasure to both sponsor and attend the VBA’s Fall Festival at the always impressive Vancouver Club; from local beers, ciders and spirits to festive games and great conversations, it’s tough to imagine a better way to celebrate the start of autumn in the city. 🍻📸🍂 As the exclusive sponsors of the Vancouver Bar Association, we get to attend all kinda of fun and unique gatherings like this one – and we can’t wait for whatever’s next!
Want in on this?
We’re on the lookout for great people to join our growing team – so if you’re keen to hang out with a bunch of gems and do good work you’ll care about, this might be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for!
And remember, we’ve got folks in remote positions throughout BC’s interior, on Vancouver Island and all across the country – so if you’re interested in coming on board but not located near an Impact office, that’s something we’re more than happy to discuss.
